Relates to the fate of Ilse Stern Salinger, who was incarcerated in Westerbork and later perished at Auschwitz together with her husband and child. Also relates to cooperative efforts by Mrs. Salinger's father, Robert Stern, and her mother-in-law, Clara Alice Steinhaus, to obtain restitution from the West German government for damages (e.g. loss of freedom, loss of property) to Ilse Salinger.
